I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HARVEY IS CONSIDERD THE GHETTO SCHOOL OF PAINESVILLE. I MEAN EVERYTIME PEOPLE FROM OTHERS SCHOOLS IN LAKE COUNTY TALK ABOUT US THEY ALWAY S SAY THAT WE'RE THA HOOD SCHOOL. HARVEY IS NOT HOOD. I MEAN THERE ARE GHETTO PEOPLE IN THIS SCHOOL (WHO'S NAMES I WON'T MENTION) BUT EVERYBODY ELSE IS JUST POSING LIKE THEY'RE HARD. IF YOU'D TAKE THOSE PEOPLE OUT TO THE "REAL GHETTO" THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LAST ONE DAY. THERE ARE ALOT WORSE SCHOOLS IN OHIO THAT MAKE HARVEY LOOK LIKE HARVARD.

I agree completely...but i guess it can be counted as ghetto compared to Riverside. I don't know why people want to be comsidered ghetto. Well I guess some things you just can't change.
rite i agree too... that is real annoying.. Harvey has always had a bad rep, but it's only because we have diversity here. Everyone else in Lake County has NO diversity, I think they are just a little jealous of the things we have here!
What is ghetto? I have heard it used in many ways and have some idea of its meaning. I heard it like:

1. Cheap, bad, inferior, half-assed. 2. An imitation.

Ghetto - noun - that which is not highly cultured or regarded is said to be ghetto. Anything not pop culture can also be said as ghetto. This is not necessarily an insult, but is most often miscontrued as one.

4. (adj.) jury-rigged, improvised, or home-made (usually with extremely cheap or sub-standard components), yet still deserving of an odd sense of respect from ghetto dwellers and non-ghetto dwellers alike.
So here's a question for you.
If ghetto=inferior and ghetto=innercity does the use of the 'ghetto' word imply that everything inner city is inferior?
no i mean ghetto as in LOUD, IGNORANT, OBNOXIOUS.....
SO Melia, why dont u mention those names....Laugh Out Loud!! But yea, i do agree with you because our school is looked at as being so bad, but realli it's just some people in the school.
